Has anyone noticed a slight clunk in the drivers seat back while turning. This occurs while turning left or right. It occurs at any speed but is most noticeable when turning 90 degrees at slow speed. 2005 530i

So discouraging to hear that...BMW has had this problem at least since 1997 iif not longer and hasn't resolved it...My 2000 M roadster and 1997 540 both had that issue....and you go through such BS to deal with it. SA telling you..play is normal or seat wouldn't be able to slide. WTF!!!! Idiot!

Haven't had the problem with my 545.

Mine just started making this noise a week ago. Just a slight clunk (faint, but not too faint). Enough to get my attention.

Weird!!

My drivers seat has started to be very squeaky lately,a fter 4 mnths, it is almost like the very well know door seals issue sound, but coming from my seat. Quiet anoing, I'm waiting to see if it will settle down - wear off - in a while.

Anybody with the same prob?

Mine clunks everytime I accelerate from a stand still. In fact, I can push again the back of the seat and cause it to tilt back very slightly and hear the clunk. There is too much free play in the seat adjustment mechanism. I had my car in for service last week and it was one of the items on the list. There were no remarks from the Tech on my RO, so I asked the SA. He came back and told me the Tech torqued everything down and lubed it. Sound was still there as I drove off the dealer lot.

Hi guys

When u say clunk is that more like a squeak? or really "CLUNK"? It's coming from the inside of the seat right? If it's a squeak, my car has it too and it'll only get worse if you don't hv it fixed at the dealer. Very annoying stuff. Im very disappointed at BMW in this, even a Corolla's seat doesn't squeak/clunk like that.

Mine does it on and off - usually quite infrequently. Has done so since I picked it up in April. It will be mentioned at the next service though.
