That is bizarre, give me those two options and I definitely would have guessed wrong. I guess it just goes to show that it can happen anywhere at anytime.
Sorry about the car, and good luck with the insurance. Hopefully they can make you whole (hopefully the a-hole's wound got infected and needs to be amputated).
