Hi guys,

I have a screw in my winter tires.. I just put them on! Anyways, the TPMS did not go off. Wondering if it's not leaking should I just leave it in or patch it? I haven't patched a tire in 7 years or so..

If that's the case then just screw it. Hahah

J/K patch it. You never know when it might pop out and spring a fast leak. Don't risk it.

Patch it... same thing happened to me... First day I bought my car...the TPMS is weird.. warning light sometimes goes on when nothing's wrong and stays off when there's a problem...

The TPMS will only give an alert if the tire has lost air. It is possible that the screw has not penetrated the tire completely. I've had several small trim screws in my tires over the years that were too short to do any damage.

+1. No reason to have a ticking time bomb embedded in your tire.

I have serious doubts about the TPMS to detect punctures

Once drove at 90mph for a week, with very slight wobble in steering (barely detectable).

Tyre shop checked tyre pressure / condition and front tyre was 75% flat, with at small screw through tread.

I have since bought a tyre pressure gauge and check tyres weekly as the electronic system is totally unreliable.

Let?s hope the F10 has something more reliable that works

Thanks everyone, I didn't want to have to do it, but I think I knew I had to. ENstig8or had a good point. It might not be deep enough, but I'm thinking it is, it's inbetween the tread.

I'll have to go get a patch kit and take off the car.

I have had a nail stuck in my tire for over 3 months... Tire Centre said, the run flats are actually pretty good handling nails and i should change it because the nail is too close to the outside, it cant be patched... But up here in canada, it snows from NOV=Jan so i might as well keep the tires on until Jan.. Ive put 15,000k on the tire with the nail in it. It has never caused me a problem.

I got a nail in my 550's rear tire when it was very new and TPMS detected it quickly.
