A was parking and scrapped the front wheel. Was late for work, tired and daydreaming. The worst combo.

Two fairly small scrapes. An inch long and 1/3 of inch tall. How much to fix?? Hoping for less than a $100.

PS The car is parked in a bad location today and wouldn't be suprised if the bumpers get scraped too.

Sorry to hear that. Oh, poop!

One of my fronts got scratched a little in a DIY drive through car wash--bad design, but still really my fault. Then, I did something so stupid to the other front that it is unimaginable. I was up early doing some test passes, and wanted to stop by a "special facility" near the airport to check my temp and pressure readings. I parked on a curve with my wheels turned to the right to snuggie up to the curve--noting that I needed to be sure to trun sharply to the left when exiting. Right before getting into the car I reminded myself to turn sharply left before exiting. So, I get into the car and exit straight away scratching the other front pretty badly but near the tire.

Since my wheels are polished alumimum, repairing them is problematic unless one does all 4--which I may do someday. But, living with the scratches, I have discovered that I never see them unless I look closely. So, now, I don't particularly care if they are scratched or not. Maybe if you live with your scratches, then you'll decide to leave them alone for a while--or forever--depending. Good luck.

Yes, I would have marred paint repaired--but a special way.

Seems you CVTBenhogan had a bad day, sorry to hear.

As I see it you have two / three good options.

1) Live with it, if the steering doesn't shake etc

2) Buy new rim

3) Try to get it fixed, see your local yellow pages.

Life still goes on, happily I hope

Ouch. I know how you feel ... been there several times.

Try your BMW dealership - I have used Fields BMW to send out scratched wheels to be fully repaired ($150). Or if you have a local tire dealer you trust, they typically have a shop they use too.

Or how about a mobile wheel repair service?
