Scratch on rear bumper from an unkown shopping cart

My car was perfect until today.. 
, Now I have a big scratch on my rear bumper possibly by some one's shopping cart. The cart was still there when I came back to my car. Its on the driver side. Any idea as how to fix it with out going to insurance? .
Why am I taking my e60 to stop and shop rather than my old camry?

A pic might help in determining the extent of the damage.
