I have a 528i coming that just updated this morning to scheduled for production on the BMW site. How long does it typically take from this stage to get to the US (east coast)?

Do a search on the forum, including "tracking" the car through production, shipping and delivery. Ballpark it should be 7-8 weeks from order to delivery but the factory does shut in August for holiday so depending when you placed yuor order it could be longer.

Also keep in mind that the BMW website is always behind. The Owner's Circle said Awaiting Transport the day my car arrived at my dealer...

When you do the search, you'll also come across a 800 number you can call. They are generally more up to date than the website. Finally, you can call your salesperson and they can look it up in their computers which are more accurate.

Thanks for the responses. I called the BMWNA 800 number today and found out the estimated completion date for my car is 9/5. Which brings me to my new question. How long after production can I expect to get the car? My SA is an older gentlemen and I really don't think he is still on top of his game. I can call him and ask but he will need to talk to someone else and I will not get an answer until next week sometime.

If the car is finished 9/5, it will then be sent to port to Await Shipping. The timing from there will vary depending on the coming and goings of the ships, so the car could sit at the port facility for a week or two. Then the trip across the Atlantic is ballpark a week, depending on the port your car will be delivered to and other stops the ship will make along the eastern seaboard. Finally, the car will go to the VPC (Vehicle Processing Center) for inspections and more prep work before being shipped to your dealer. This should only take a few days but can vary.

So adding this all up, my guess would be around 4 weeks after the car is produced. Could be a bit sooner if the car gets to port and is quickly loaded on an outbound ship.
