i was so certain and so happy that i will get my car (2006 525d Msport Pro SatNav) fitted with a tv. and the last step was to phone the dealer to agree on the price and date of fitting .... but he shocked me when he said £2000 ... given that he will use the same monitor that my car already has ! its just for their work and for the cables and antenna !

im so disappointed now

WOW! That is pretty steep! I don't have any TV's but I don't think that is right. Hopefully someone with more experience can help.

That price is for OEM parts and BMW labour... There are3rd party solutions that would be a lot cheaper, plus you can get them installed by an indy who'll do a better job for less money.

My suggestion is to enjoy "driving" the car and worry about TV when you get home (but thats just me). On the other hand, you can always find a shop that specializes in car stereo installation that can do the job for way less than a dealership will charge you.

My Beast has the TV & Pro Sat Nav - This system also requires a larger Screen than the standard I drive -

It is so cool having these extras. I bring the Mrs to the supermarket just so I can wait in the Car and watch Judge Judy and The Simpsons!!

I don't usually agree with you Howitzer, but this time.............I must. I like gadgets as much as anyone, but when it comes to my car and TV, all it's really there for is to make others more comfortable (since you can't watch tv as the driver), and I have alway felt the same: No one should be more comfortable in my car than me, if someone else wants to be comfortable, make a payment, otherwise I am the only one who truly needs to be comfortable in my car.
