hello everybody, its been months since i visited, was busy with work but glad to be back. my e60 is still bringing me endless joy every day (not a thing wrong), been up to 220 and back several times, admiring glances etc. knowing how we owners and fans feel about our car(s).

I saw a very bad accident today involving a brand new e60 530i in amethyst grey-PP in downtown toronto.
knowing how we all pamper our cars, it is a very sad sight. looks like the e60 is at fault turning left. :'(
*there is another vehicle (toyota?) involved in this accident, its front is gone.

these photos were done by my phone and the quality is poor, but reminds us all to drive safely and with care all the time. i hope the driver is OK.

Wow!! Glad to see the car saved those people! After the Euro Ncap thread this makes me feel a lot better. Our cars are really safe!! I hope the people got out allright.

On a side note: Showed my wife the pictures and here first reaction was: It's coffee time!!!

The front end seems OK. Perhaps the car will be repaired due to low front damage.
I don't see any wreckage pieces from other car, I wonder what hit it?

It bothers me to see another E60 in shambles... but I have to say, the passenger compartment looks almost pristine. Thats one of the main reasons I drive a BMW... I feel so safe!

the car was t-boned at the rear, looks like a total cause the rear axle is damaged and wheel caved in. the car spinned out.
the 'lady' driver was taken to hospital, all airbags deployed. she might be in shock but the paramedics placed her in a neck brace, there's no blood and i hope her injuries are minor.
looks like she's in shock more than physically injured. the passenger cell is intact and survived the accident.

From the damage, if this is a one car mess, looks like the lady was driving too fast for that area.

On another subject, has Amethyst now been named Olivini or Olivin?

AFAIK, Olivin and Amethyst Grey are two different colours.

Olivin is like metallic light green, and Amethyst is metallic light brown (mocha)
