Guys,
I have SAT radio in my car and notice that it keeps going out every few seconds. So it will play for like 20 seconds and be out for like 1 second and then again do the same thing. The time difference on the lost sound is variable so it might work fine for 35 seconds or say a minute and then go out for a second or 2.

Any insight on what you guys think is causing the problem ?

All help greatly appreciated

Either you have a bad tuner or there is signal interference. Try going to another location (preferably an area with known good reception) to see if the problem still exists.

I have tried driving all over the city but it still behaves that way. My Wife's car(Lexus) also has SAT and doesnot have any issues.

I wonder if it were interference what would it be, the tint ?
This one dealership I went to told me that it could very well be the tint but its hard for me to belive that. I mean, I am subscribed to SATELITE Radio, its not a small transmitter in my local area that I trying to tap a signal from.

My wife's previous and current SUV has tinted windows and the SAT radio in both cars worked fine.

My guess is your receiver has a faulty component that is causing your problem.

The SAT antenna is on the roof so no tint problems I think.

You could try an aftermarket SAT antenna. Just get one with the euro type FAKRA end on it - pretty universal I think. Plug it into your SAT module in your trunk and give it a try.

Did the car come with SAT or was it installed later?
