My Ride: 530d Sport manual Mystic Blue, black Dakota leather, advanced air con, fold/split rear seats, Logic 7, business nav, 6cd, heated F seats
I'm about to order a 530d & am finalising specification of my car; need some help please!
With sat nav I believe getting near to a POI is announced by some verbal message like "you're near your destination" and arrival is announced similarly - is that correct?
Is it possible to change/configure the audio clip used? - I'm looking at using the procedure described at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.p...27&page=1&pp=22 to set up POIs for "safety cameras" (as they're called here in the UK) - and want something a bit more appropriate than this verbal announcement if its going to be triggered frequently on a journey by proximity to camera coordinates - maybe simply a couple of beeps.
I'm guessing that the announcement is simply an audio file on the nav DVD - anyone know?
And if so, can a different audio clip be associated with different POI types?
Anyone know how applicable this procedure is to the business nav system, rather than the professional system as discussed there?

If it is possible, then lots of people would love to have that feature.
Seems it's possible ! Indeed, E90 and E60 have the same NaviPro GPS !! I will try all the process described to add the french speed cameras as POI. It would be a bad news for my InfoRad but a good news for my driving licence !!
If some body manage to do it, please let me know...

I'm going to give it a go. First of all, I need to get the latest DVD. Is it 2006-1 ?
Maybe I'll try with my 2004 DVD first.
I presume that every time you want to show the cameras, you need to goto search for that type of information. A shortcut would be nice
