Had a call to return my perfectly performing E60 for a safety recall. Talk of a rear suspension issue. Am I alone???

Help, I did not want to go back to the dealer yet

Your not alone.

Mine were replaced last Tuesday.

Hate to bring my car to the dealer so soon. But no choice my hill assist and "stearing angle sensor" were malfunctioning too. B

As you can guess, wheels must be taken off the car. So not happy because of the scratches on my two totally scratch-free rear wheels

Its really not acceptable. Those bmw mechanics should know the 135 18" wheels are expensive. So why are they treating those wheels careless. Am I crazy or are there other people on the forum wanting totally scratch free wheels.

The details were posted in this forum somewhere - just affects a certain range of build dates...

EDIT: Ah, found it! Recall

I cant do anything more. So have to live with that.

Kreksi, perhaps you need to file a complaint with BMW Belgium in Bornem since they look after the service of the dealers and they are pretty keen on a proper service. I'd say, it is worth a try. Replacement 135s for you almost new cqar should be the only outcome. Why would you settle for a cleaning job for a car which is already clean & shiny?

Would you have rather BMW waited until a year or so?

I had mine replaced this past Friday. I am happy to have them replaced. I was having problems at high speeds. I felt like I was catching some hellish crosswinds. Now they have to replace the SZL eventhough it seems to be working fine thus far. One would think that a vehicle in its fourth build year wouldn't have any problems. That is why I don't like buying a first build year vehicle.
