Sad,sad day
Came back from the theater with my wife and found the driver-side window smashed out and my V1 missing!!! glass everywhere and the door is really scratched up. Man I feel so violated. Now the car is at the dealer and I'm almost more worried about the additional damage form them!!
As long as my baby was in, I thought I'd take care of a few other problems:
squeaks and rattles from the back seat; rattles from the engine, driver side window only goes half way up then down; car dies on starts every so often; the nav got stuck the other day - (would only show one turn ahead even after I passed the turn miles previous and the girl's voice never came on); cd player with mind of its own.
sheesh/////but I love it!!!

Looking on the positive side, the damage could have been worse, and hopefully the dealer will fix the problems. Good luck.
Joe, I know how you feel. I feel bad. My car was keyed along the hood. Of course that is nothing compared to yours. My other new car was broken into. They broke the rear passenger side window out and only stole a tennis racket. I just wish I could catch people doing these things.
Hey thanks guys! It really wasn't that bad all things considered. Just feels like somebody violated my space ya know? I remember walking up to the car and seeing the chards of broken glass glistening in the light - It was like somebody kicked me in the stomach.
I think actually seeing somebody smash your car is worse - and getting keyed is possibly worse because replacing a window should be fairly benign but you could really get screwed on a botched paint buff/paint job.
In any case I get hit on this one - $1,000 deductible!

Sorry to hear that. When I was in college, a few of us lived in an off campus house and rode to school together. One day, it was my friend's turn to drive and when we walked outside, he saw that his driver-side window was shattered. We told him that he was seeing things, but as we approached, you could clearly see that it had been vandalized. A tear came down his face...seriously. I think out of anger, but you do feel violated. It has never happened to me, and I pray that it never does.
I do have one question. Does the E60 alarm come on if someone breaks the glass? Does the E60 come with an alarm standard or is this an aftermarket feature.
Again, sorry for trouble. $1,000 deductible is nothing to sneeze at. My car, I think I could handle. My home where my wife and little girl sleep, I would have to hurt someone. Out of all of us, odds are, one day, some time in the future, someone from this board is going to catch the person that vandalizes his/her car, and we will all have a sense of accomplishment...especially if our forum member gets a few licks in before the police show up!

[/quote]In the US the arlarm is standard. And it will go off if someone breaks the glass. As Ice said, it detects motion inside the car. Breaking glass is motion. It is not like other alarms where it goes off by motion outside the car which is good.
