Thanks for the words of support.? I know in the vast scheme of things this is a minor transgression.? It just seems like the car is a magnet for negative attention.? I get nasty looks from other drivers quite regularly and now the vandalism.

I just wonder if it is worth it to own something I constantly worry about -especially now. If I sold it I would buy something completely benign like a Jeep or something and melt into the background!

Depends where you live... in the SF Bay Area my 545i is essentially a middle-class car. You need a Lambo or a Maybach to turn heads. But if I lived in, say, Kentucky, I wouldn't dream about tooling around in this vehicle (cue Deliverance music).

That really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would freek if that happened to me. You can probably get it fixed pretty reasonably. Dont let some Piece of &%^& dictate what you drive. Even with a few scratches, it is still one of the sweetes rides around. Some &^%ole is riding around on a city bus, bragging to his buddies over a 40, that he trashed your ride. Would you rather be him?

Sorry to hear your story.. <_<

And do not sell your baby just because of these. Are you going to downgrade yourself to get a cheaper car? That won't help because you're gonna miss the 'power & beauty' of your baby..

What a great viewpoint. I think a "keyed" e60 is still twice the car of an unblemished LS430. Just as an example.

Similar thing happened to me about 3 months ago. I had parked in Downtown LA on a early Saturday morning in a lot with an attendant. Came back a few hours later and someone had rubbed an empty smashed coke can along the rear, below the bumper and next to my license plate. I had just washed my jet black car the day before. The attendant said he knew nothing. I used Meguiar's Scratch X and it did a pretty good job. I still notice a little imperfection, but much better. Black is so hard to keep clean. Time to get a Titanium Silver 550!

Looked at the rear deck just above the 545 logo - deep key mark and a long scratch leading upo to the lip of the trunk lid.? This was totally on purpose and designed to show me and the world their disdain in the most obvious way.

Anyone know what this might cost? Since I've owned the car it has been broken into once, shattering the driver-side glass (they stole my V1).

Somone pushed into my rear bumper leaving large bolt indentations.?

I think I'm going to sell it. Anyone interested - Chicago area.

OKay- the car is going in today for surgery on the key job and every other imperfection I've founc - costing me $650 but its worth it to get the stink of that moron off my ride.

Thanks to everyone for the words of support in this extremely difficult and life-altering time for me..hehe.
