The answer will depend on which country you live in.....????? If in Canada, the answer is yes, but maybe not in the US. Assumed you are not in Europe or elsewhere.

I am in the US (Florida), so does that mean I cannot order the car with sport option without RFT?

Thanks,
Richard

I believe there is no way around it, 535i sport package comes with RFT. I wish RFT was an option for sport package.

I think you are correct...my '08 535i Sports Package came with 'em and I didn't see a way to order non-rfts....ask you dealer though if you are ordering your new BMW - perhaps they can switch tires when it arrives...the rft's are a more expensive tire so you dealer would be making $$'s on the switch. I like my rft's as several weeks ago I was driving on the freeway in suit and tie and had a flat. It was raining hard and I was able to drive several miles to a gas station and call BMW assist!! Didn't even harm the tire.

Good luck

I see so many dislike RFT. But I have never seen why. Can anyone give me the negatives of run flat tires? Thanks.

this is my first experience with both bmw and rft's...what what I have read and observed personally..it seems rft's have a harsher ride to them (IMO and have read from other members), as well as replacing is a pretty penny....

if you can't get your dealer to switch them out..maybe you can mount some non-rft's and throw the rft's on the classified section for sale...although i'm not sure how that effects your warranty or maintenance coverage riding with non-rft's...

Run flats are fine on smooth roads but give a choppier ride on harsh roads
I was ok with them and was going to renew them until i looked under the car

where the side walls are so stiff the tyre doesnt naturally deform on cornering
the effect is the tyre shoulders on the inside where worn out to the metal
admittedly the tread was all but gone, but still not good news. wheel alignment was ok.
put on a a full set of goodyear eagle f1 and all is great (on 535d sport 245/40/18)
no detrimetal handling effects, was right decision to go non RFT

I had run flats on my 04 Z4 for 4 years and had no problems or complaints with the noise/handing. However, I ran over a nail and found out they cannot be plugged (or rather the dealers will not plug them - based on manufacturers recommendations) - so every nail will potentially cost you $400. Definitely get tire & wheel insurance if you have RFTs.
