run flat?

ok i took the car into get the oil changed as well as have them fill and look at the coolant,comfort access key not working and sos malfunction.they couldnt find out why the sos message was popping up,they key they need parts ect(i didnt want to drive a 328i for new years so ill bring it back for that) and everything else was fine.as im leaving he tells me that i need new tires (i only have 17000 miles on them). is this normal? my wife drives the car all week long so shes not racing around.just seems real soon to have to get new tires.

17,000 miles - that sounds reasonable.

Should be about normal...perhaps about 20K would be correct

just wanted to make sure, i was hoping to get about 20,000-25,000. i know alot of people on here dont like there run flats so if anybody wants to sell their tires let me know.i have a 535i with sports package

You do not need to ask an internet board. Look at the wear bars on your tires. If the tread is down to the wear bars or close to it than you need tires. Its not like bmw can pull a fast one on you and trick you telling you that your tires are worn since there is an objective measure on the tire to do that.
the dealer said that the tires were cupping real bad. on the out side of the tire it looks ok but he said on the inside its bad.

It sounds like Dunlop still hasnt fix the problem with the runflats... it's still wearing out too fast. See if the dealer will replace them for you with this bulletin.
