Had Costco put Michelin PS2's on today. They chipped up one of my rims pretty badly. Anyone know how much the stock '05 545' Sport rims cost?

I hope they are going to pay you for the rim, anyway check with your dealer for the exact price, I had to replace a rim on my 545 last year and it was over $500.00. Fortunately for me I always buy the optional wheel/tire insurance which saved me several times.

Try bmwwheels.com, they discount. I've dealt with them. No problems

What do you mean by chipped? My dealer scrathed up one of my rims putting on my PS2's and I had one bad case of curb rash. They were able to recoat the rims and you wouldn't know the difference after the repair, they did a very good job. Ask the dealer, they may work with someone who does the BMW rims for them. Or any reputable rims specialist should be able to fix it.

Ask your dealer for what they call a Take Off Rim. Its a new rim that was taken off another car that wanted to upgrade there rims. For one reason or another even if its a new rim they can't sell it for new. I replaced a rim on my 2001 330ci for $180.00.Origanl price $450.00 Good luck
cheers

Talks to the Costco tire manager and I am pretty sure that they will pay for the replacement rim.

BTW, were the old tires they replaced run flats? I am curious if Costco has the necessary equipment and skills/training/experience to dismount run flats.

Yes, thet were run flats. I confirmed 4 times (yes four) that they were comfortable and capable of installing my PS2's on my car...

How about fixing the wheels? Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara does a great job. I know they're far from you but you can come on a Sat and they'll do it in a couple hours.

Another option is to buy a used set from forum members who have upgraded their wheels.
