Rudy,

Your old 545i is listed for $45,988 at Rahal. I am not sure if you had checked or not. PM me your payoff at lease end, if you remember it. Thanks....
Don't remember it right now. If I can dig up the paperwork, I'll let you know...

It is probably $40,000 +/-.

I understand completely what your quandary will be if they start talking DSG...
...unless you keep your foot slightly on the brake, then you can back up w/reverse with the door open.

C
I knew it would only be a matter of time before someone tricked the car into letting that happen...
LOL. I've always kept my foot slightly on the brake while reversing. I was thinking my 550i somehow didn't have the 'park' feature until, after reading here, I took my foot off the brake and, wham, the car jerked into park.

I predict that the DSG will come out with the F10. It should be a killer option.

Mike, you can manually shift the car when the shift lever is on the right side because....

wait for it.......

the steering wheel has paddles!
Doh Of course you can. I keep thinking in terms of the Steptronic, while the SAT is the replacement for SMG. I definitely need to get the SAT on my next e60.

Eh I stopped by the dealer today cuz about a month and a half ago my iDrive said the microfilter was due for servicing... and I took it in and today while digging in there I noticed it wasnt replaced so i called them up. They said they didnt replace it because the iDrive miscalculated it... it should be changed at 30K miles not when the iDrive said so. so they just "reset" it.

But I checked if they had any sports automatics there and they didnt..

While I have been studying construction it has became to my mind that it looks complicated and "weak". But Wikipedia tells that Veyron have one! So it has to be strong enough for BMW too.

Want one too!

Great write-up Rudy.

I'm looking forward to my 550i on opening day of BMW Welt. In the meantime, this week I have the H7 and next week I have a 550i for a week (and the week after a 535i). So I won't be lonely.
