I take it he had a lot of issues. I searched some of his posts, and it looks like he had a lot of issues. The SAT sounds liek the way to go. Metro DC traffic sucks anyways, better decisions.
The SAT sounds pretty amazing!

Don't forget the with the SAT, you can get Active Cruise with Stop and Go (can't get it with the MT.) Once you've sat in major stop and go traffic while using ACC, you'll find it hard to go back!
Alright you sold me on the SAT. They only released the SAT in 2008 correct? How well does the ACC with stop and go work?

As far as how it works, it works great and I love it in traffic. You still have to pay attention but 99% of the time, it works perfectly. Once in a while, when something strange happens and it loses it's "fix" on the car in front, you have to intervene but for the most part, it does the job really well...

I love this thread........ I keep coming back to read it and learn more and more about the SAT. I LOVE mine and I'm so happy that I have it. Rudy, your review has made it so much easier for me to understand, and use the SAT to it's full capacity ~ It makes driving so much fun.
We also have an M5 which is an SMG, and I have to say I don't enjoy it as much as my SAT. I know, I know, I'm a girl so maybe that explains it, but I like the fact that I can sometimes just leave the 550i in SAT and get where I'm going. When I leave the M5 in "auto" it's horrible and clunky. Hubby loves it, but I'll stick with the sport auto.

Rudy,
Great review, sounds like the SAT is a lot of fun. I sure hope BMW still makes a manual 6 banger in a couple of years when I buy a new 5
