+1. No harm in trying bro. I had tried something similar in Chicago once and got nowhere, but have friends in smaller cities who have gotten some $$. Keep us posted, and hope both weather and luck are better from now on.

1. Something we all learn in driving class and hopefully learn through experience: speed limits are designed for good road conditions and must be adjusted for bad weather, low vis, etc.

2. Distracted driving (in a rush, thinking about your upcoming day), following too closely combined with the rainy, low vis. may have contributed to not seeing the pothole in time to react.

Your story should be a cautionary tale for all of us to remember that driving is a serious matter that demands the utmost attention, all the time...
