So I bought this tire insurance from the dealer when I bought the car. I paid like 550 for it. Does anyone else have this? One of my tires has a leak in it and the tread on the rears look low. Is there any way to get them replaced with this insurance? I'm sure someone must have experience with this one.

They are for aftermarket ones, the ones that came on my car, which is what I still have.

if you got the car from a bmw dealer with those tires on it, maybe, but i would read the fine print. i turned it down because they told me it would only cover the size and brand RFTs on my car. if that brand was not availible, a comparable same sized RFT would be the only alternative, and it is at the dealer discretion.

Intire is for accidental damage not excess wear. If the leak is caused by a nail or something like that they will pay for a replacement tire. As most others they have a long list on non-covered cases like side wall damage, damaged wheel that causes vibration but the wheel can still hold air and so on that allow them to not to pay for damages.

Got a two year tire and wheel coverage for $450.00 which covers any wheel or tire. I have had it since september and have had an aftermarket 19 inch wheel and one Conti and one Potenza tire replaced. No extra costs other than going to the newly Built BMW Service Center and buying a cup of coffee and watching TV... Actually had the dealer loan me a 328 the second time. :-) Dan

Sweet! So can you just put a nail in each tire when the tread gets low and get 4 brand new tires or do they patch it?

haha +1. My car is not under warranty anymore, can I still take it to BMW and have them use my wheel insurance?

I got an Intire plan when I got the car. It covers OEM wheel and OEM tire damage for the first incident per wheel.
Coverage is for five years. Mine cost ax $990 and this has that has been recovered several times over because of the 172s and the Conti sports that have been wrecked.

I believe some (BMW) dealers will stretch the rules if you have good relations with them.

As someone above said read the fine print and then read it again.
