Has anyone checked with the dealership as to having the stock halogen AE replaced with LED's? Mine are getting retrofitted tomorrow under warranty.

I drive an '04....https://5series.net/forums/public/st...fault/nono.gif Dont think its an option.

Just to confirm the failed component is just the AE (not the light module), you can swap the AE from the other side to the failed side and see if that works.

I had my right parking light, (AE), go. I bought a new bulb from the stealers and they attempted to install. However, this did not fix the problem. After further diagnosis it needed a new light module and programming. Not the cheapest of things! I was told by the SA that he has seen this more frequently on the adaptive xenons as I have.
Hopefully you won't need to change your LM.

Good excuse to upgrade to Mtec V2; believe MOTORCEPTS in NYC sells it for $130.

Just to correct that my bulbs were in fact not replaced with LED's today but with longer life halogen bulbs. The SA said he gave me incorrect information. Bummer. I think I will now look into after market LED's. Whats a good brand?

You do not need to change the LM. The LM cannot affect just the angel eye bulb. It;s definitely a lie!!! Dont trust the dealers.

Why did the insurance pay for headlight? Was the car in an accident?
On a side note, my AE is working again... must have been a loose connection or its on its way out but either way I am upgrading!!https://5series.net/forums/public/st...t/thumbsup.gif |

Thanks! Yes we carry it. MTEC V2.1 works only for 2004-2007. We also have Motorcepts 5W V2 angel eyes. We carry LED angel eyes for the E60. |
