Suddenly I got a error message saying my right license plate light bulb was gone. I replaced the bulb, but it didn't help. I found out that with the trunk lid open both license plate lights work, but when the lid is almost closed, only an inch left open, the right light turns off. The cables look fine where I can see them.

Has anyone experienced this?

..Strange! Deffo sounds like the wires pulling, or there is defiantly a loose connection somewhere!

I faced the same problem. It was cable problem. Inspect the cables running throu trunk right pipe, if the protection rubber removed the cables will be squeezed between the metal when the trunk is closed which by the time result in cutting some cables.
