Do you keep your car garaged? My e28 524 TurboDiesel had a plug-in heater for the fuel filter and oil. Do the new BMW Diesel cars delivered for cold climates come equipped that way?

Yes I have a carage, but it's not heated. However, it helps to keep the car free from snow and it is always much warmer inside the carage than outside. For example if it's -29?C/-20?F outside like it was this other day, it's only -15?C/5?F indside the carage.

I also have a block heater in my car and I use it an hour or more before starting the car when the weather goes below 0?C/32?F. There's a plug for it in front bumper. I'd say that 99% of cars in Finland has a block heater or similar. They are usually installed by importers.

Thanks!

Road conditions are pretty good when the temps are cold. The roads are much more slippery when it's near the 0?C/32?F.
Here's a couple of webcam pics about what they are right now (-16?C/-3?F):

Happy holidays to you too!

Such great photos of the quiet, haunting beauty of winter. Made me wish that I still enjoyed the cold. But now would rather have palm trees when I can.
