My 535d M Sport wipers are set to LHD where as my car is a RHD
Is this normal?
Can the settings be changed so that they become RHD

umm - ok - if you are in the drivers seat they go from you to the passenger rather than the other (normal) way round!

But they are not on a smooth arc rather a compound curve to ensure that some of the top right hand corner of the windscreen is reached. I do not find it a problem.
Finally, I doubt very much if things can be changed as the wiper arm spines (the bit the arms bolts to) are in a fixed body position along with a one off set of linkages from the motor.

I have a RHD and I actually like this arrangement because if I use the windscreen wash with my driver's side window down, water is not flicked into the car by the wipers. (Unlike on my previous Honda Accord)

This has been discussed before. It appears that the bigger BMWs 5, 6 and 7 series have the wipers in this position while the smaller BMWs like the 1 and 3 series are "correct" for RHD cars. I've got used to them now and it also gets rid of the screenwasher/water stains on the driver's side windows

Yes, it seems that BMW engineers decided that there was no need to produce a special wiper mechanism for RHD cars, and I have to agree that although the wipers go the "wrong" way, they wipe very close to the edge and it has never been a problem for me.
One thing to watch though, is that since UK and European E60s have the same wipers (regardless of LHD or RHD), if you buy a set of replacement wiper blades from your BMW dealer and go to fit them yourself, the blades are marked as Drivers side and Passenger side but this is for LHD cars. So in the UK, these labels are wrong. Caught me out the first time. Just pretend the steering wheel is on the left, and the instructions are correct! :-)
