Dunlop RFTs are softer than others - and probably the best RFT all around.

If you're looking for rears, look at Bridgestone Potenza RE760 (or 960 - depends whether you want all season). Contis are softer, but good wear - that's what I have in the rear now and I love them. Yokohama has a nice tire in our size - Advan 4s, I think is the model. But look at reviews - tirerack has a pretty good reviews section.

I definitely recommend that you get non rft for the back - especially if your car has a spare. Also, I'd keep the tire size the same - your handling will not get any better from just a wider tire - that's wishful thinking. If you get a staggered set of rims and different tires front and back, then you're looking at different handling, but not necessarily an improvement - what it does is make your car oversteer easier, so if you know what you're doing and like to kick the tail out, its good. And so on and so forth...

I'd like to get Bridgestone Potenza RE960's here but they don't sell them in the UK infact the only type of that range I can find is RE050A - which I'm using on the e90 I have at the moment - I don't really like them as they are too hard, but good grip (they are RFT's)

Well that explains it, I guess i'm lucky. I was prepared to have some crappy ride on my new car when I picked it up.
