I initially had the Style 135 Rims with 18" 245/40 all round, run flat Dunlops (MSports Pack set up).
I then bought the Style 172 19" Rims with Michelin PS2 275/30 rear and 245/35 front.
The 19" with lower profile rubber gives a better and more forgiving ride than the 18" runflats.

I will not buy runflats again, until the manufacturers dramatically sort out the harsh ride.

is there any offical document or anything i could present to my dealer because when i did mention uneven tire wear and road noise the servies advisor he was pretty shocked and heard it for the first time ...

My only problem with runflats...........Availability
iDrive correctly indicated a puncture this morning for a nail embedded in a rear tyre, however there are only 2 Goodyear Eagles of the correct size in the UK. So no new tyre until Thurs

I think you have 2 problems there...
You also have to buy a new tyre, because BMW don't want people repairing runflats. Expensive puncture! :thumbsdown:

I've had two sets of Dunlop RFTs on my E60 530d - the ride is harsh and jittery - road/tyre noise is an annoying feature as well.
Anyone tried Bridgestone or Michelins?

The car I traded had Michelins with 5000 miles and although I didn't care for them I remember them being somewhat quieter than the RE050's.

For those that have changed to non flats, did you also buy the spare wheel / space saver? Not sure if this is standard in the US but doesn't seem to be in the UK. The 18" RFT seem ok, but I've not been a passenger in the car.
I might think about changing when the tryes need replacing but no way before then - I will also have to convince myself, I have been in a car doing 70mph when a blowout hit and there was no way the driver was going to keep the car running straight. This was on a motorway at rush hour. spun across all 3 lanes into the central barrier. some how missed all cars and no injuries at all.
