As to summer tires I've got Bridgestones Potenza RE50A NONRF.Great references and test results, better than Contis actually....
I've also found those tires Bridegestone are standart for new SL 55 AMG and Ferrari Enzo
makes me feel like I take a good care about my E60

Hi mr_djurgarden
i had the same problem (well i guess it is one of the nicer probs to have
) like you. for summer i had a set of 124 with wider rears and for winter i had a set of 124 (8j front and back). Well today, i went to germany and changed my entire ride. For summer i got a set of 172 with Conti V-Max and for winter, i have taken a set of 135 instead of the 124. I hated the 124
for your imformation, i spent an hr at the tire shop struggling to decide between a set fo 166 and 172 - both priced the same, about 2500 EUR (with conti vmax tires - super price) - if you need the contact in germany, send me an email). the reason why i went for the 172 and not for th 166 was simply not because of the looks but because if you look at your car datasheet, bmw does not allow you to drive a car with the 166 rims - this is a big issue in germany and austria with T?V. so if i was caught in an accident and if the alloys are not legal, then the insurance does not pay. am not sure how strict you guys are in sweden but it could be a problem - think about it. btw, if you do go for 166, pls take the e60 tire sizes, ie. 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 rather than the m5 tires sizes. unfornuteyl there are several people on ebay claiming that the tire sizes of the m5 match with those of e60
anyway, greetinz from vienna..

Personally I'd recommended PS2's but they're not great as a winter tyre... Get the 19" 172's

). Then my dealer came up with a good offer - four 172 rims with Conti SC2 tyres (245/35/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears) + the fullspace saver kit + installation for ?1,870. He said he was doing me a special. I sold my 135m rims and and RF tyres for ?1,050 (in itself a bargain as I had only done 700 or so miles in them) so the entire trade cost me ?820. Thats about the extra amount you would pay if you upgraded the alloys to 172's when ordering a new car, Happy with the trade up - the Conti's are very good tyres as well and the 172's as I mentioned earlier look superb filling the arches nicely. In the past week or so I have had three very nice comments about the 172's and the car in general from passers by.

Of topic maybe but my winter tires Conti S810 Ts are more sporty and have better grip on dry asfalt than my Bridgestone Rft. So I would probably go for Conti as Peter said if its good for M5 it should be good for you

I think it was you with the M5 comment as I did not mention it so as I didn't recommend PS2.......... I recommend bridgestone nonrf because of better traction on wet roads over the contis

ok we sortet that out so lets talk tires now
