Hi guys!
I'm really disappointed with my bridgestone RFT Potenza. The car feels very unstable. Now I consider changing them for new tires. I have two alternatives.
1. Buy only new tires. I'm considering the Michelin pilot sport 2 or any others. Do you recommend them or do you have any better suggestion?
2. Buy new tires + new wheels. I'm thinking about the BMW 172 19". What is the best tyre for this wheel?
Thx in advance!

I have had very good experience with my RF Dunlops. They have the star indicating they were engineered for the 5-series.

If the continentals are good enough for the M5 then they are good enough for my 530i

The 172M wheels look absolutely stunning in my opinion. The only 19" wheels I considered for my car were these and the style 166M. Both look gorgeous. Amazingly the 172 rims are signiifcantly more expensive (?300+ per set) than the 166M rims - a bit of a shock given that the 166 are fitted as standard to the M5.

Yes. Thanks, grogan545, for your continued interest. I mentioned it online here once and gave you credit. I set it at 1046 and it is running about one MPG on the low side around town -- shows 18, gets 19 actual. When I start my cross country trips, I expect it to average about right. If not, I'll go to your 1039. Thanks for the input.

I like my combination very much PS2's and 19" style 101's (pic below). You may get a tad more minimal high-speed vibration with lower profile tires--as with my PS2's. Otherwise all is great with them. Check out what is said about various tires at tirerack.com. Start by "saving" your car. I kept my original wheels and runflats for trips. You might use your old wheels for winter tires. Note, however, that I like my Dunlop RFT's very well, but they still have few miles on them. Pics of PS2's/101's below.

Hi mr_djurgarden,
If you go for 172's I could be interested in buying your 135's without the tires,
if the rims are mint.
Interested?
I would go for Michelin PS2's or ContiSport's and of course non RF's!
