My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Reading the "new" BMW Magazine 2/2007 and as we are going into the new '08 MY
I learn that many of the E60 models will be introduced with
"latest generation RF tyres running more smoothly and lowering fuel consumtion".
This goes for at least the new MY '08 520d and the 523i.
Comments needed, please.

I wonder what the compromise was...
I don't understand the need for run-flats. There's a spare tire in the trunk, and people without arms or spines can call roadside assistance.

I dont get 1 in my car.
All BMW in HK dont have spares

My Ride: E60 530IA Saphirschwarz, Beige Dakota
Took delievery of my new 530ia a week ago with Dunlop runflats- I am very surprised at the comfort on smooth roads- far smoother than my e39 530ia- however on roads with rougher surface- say concrete, you notice the harshness.

Looking at the BMWUSA web site, it does not appear that any 2008 US 5 series cars will have RFTs. My '08 550 with sport package sure didn't. It does not appear anyone even makes RFTs that size at this point.
Also to argue an earlier point, my RFTs on my '04 were great. I had 5 flats in 3 years and the time and hassle saved by choosing when I went to the tire store for a fix, made the load noise and horrible tread life, worth it (I think). Getting to a meeting on time etc, is huge to a lot of people. Now, if they could just get the wear to something better than 15k miles.
