Hello,
Just picked up a used 2006 550i E60.

A few issues that bugged me was the delay in power delivery when hitting the accelerator. I mean with such a wonderful engine the power should be instant.

There had to be at least 1-1.5 second delay before the onset of HP kicks in.
Also, I had a jerk from 1st gear to 2nd that also bugs me.

So, I purchase an aftermarket item called "pedal box". This little unit controls the throttle body response.

Wow, what a difference this makes. My jerk disappeared from 1st to 2nd.
Also, the car feels so jump off the line in a GOOD WAY.
It feels spring loaded like it wants to explode off the line. The slightest touch of the accelerator make this launch like a bat out hell.
Keep in mind I am driving with the most aggressive mapping.
There are various programs that lets you dial it back and find for the right driving situation

Highly recommend to anyone who wants faster acceleration!

I wouldn't say faster acceleration, considering anybody could do the same thing by stomping on the gas pedal harder. I am happy that you are enjoying your new to you car.
