I am getting a "Right reverse light failure" on my display intermittently. When it occurs, I have tried leaving the car in reverse, hand brake on, and gone back behind to car to inspect the backup lights. All seems to be okay. Any ideas?

2004 545i, sport pkg.

Thanks,

Myles

How old is your battery? I've had strange re-ocurring issues like this on my old E39 when the battery needed to be replaced.

In addition to checking on the battery, you might change out the two reversing light bulbs. Mine gave similar messages for a couple months before failing completely. They aren't that expensive, and it's an easy DIY. Once the bulbs were changed, the error messages stopped.

Both of mine when out at the same time. About $2 a piece at Walmart.
