I'll look into it and let you guys know once we get them in. I'm interested in the same swap, maybe event he headlights if the price is reasonable enough for me to justify the change.

You're very welcome. I didn't seem to know any more (or less) than anyone else on this subject though.

You don't have to read threads that doesn't interest you. Also there is no need for you to answer them.
Let the other guys speculate about the LED lights without you trying to be smart. If everyone here would be 100% sure about everything around the E60 there would be no need for a E60-forum.

At least on the E39 it was possible and it seems that the light cluster
measurements are the same on the facelift, both front and rear.
So my say is a cautious yes.
Also change of wheels makes your car fresher.

The LEDS is the only part of the refresh that stands out and looks really good to me. The LEDs remind me of the ones I had on my 2002 e39, which I liked alot more than my current ones on the E60. Besides the wheels if you have the aero kit and the LEDs the cars will look identical.

Even though light module are identical for both car with LED and non-LED rear lights, new Vehicle Order is needed, thanks to Stoneface for providing me this information.
This happens to the case of M5 mirror retrofit with folding function in US. Both M5 and non-M5 use identical door control module which controls side mirrors, window switch, etc. After installing M5 mirror and window switch cluster with mirror folding button, all existing functions work except expected folding function. Stoneface told me that vehicle order needs to be updated with mirror folding function added.
Similar case here is that although both LCM (light control module) are identical, car needs to be programmed to accept LED tail light.
I could be wrong, so please provide your input/feedback

im 99.999% sure they will work. Not sure on fitment however. LEDs can be manufactured to adapt different voltages... however they must allways be in DC which any car is. You can buy LED replacement lamps for your rear headlights anyway. the lighting circuit is a matter of switches...

Its probably been asked before but does anyone know yet whether its possible to retrofit the new rear lights onto the E60 with the new facelifted version due in March. They look great with the LED flashers etc (they should have been there since the E60 was launched in 2003! ).
I assume its not as easy as buying the two rear light clusters and plugging them in. They will probably need programming with the cpu on the E60 to work properly I assume.
Any feedback on this would be great.
