Hi

I recently upgraded my screen to the widescreen and i upgraded the cd player to a professional sat nav unit, I connected all the wires and now my idrive does not turn left or right on the menu when i spin the idrive. Can someone help me? do i need to replace it, or get a software upgrade from bmw? Also apart from the tv, and the gps ariel, do i need anything else?

I've attached the BMW doc for the retrofit, if you look, I think you do need to replace the I-Drive controller as it's a slightly different unit in the profesional setup.

You'll need to get it coded to the car too, shop around at your dealers, as part of the process will take it up to the latest SW version (v.23). It can take a long time (6 hours +), but a tech doesn't need to be sat in your car the entire time while they do it, so make sure they don't charge for it!! I think I paid ?150 for the coding upgrade when I installed my Bluetooth module.
