As the title suggests, I was just wondering if it is possible to have this retro-fitted at a later date?

Not true -- it is definitely possible, just not economically reasonable.

What's involved in making a factory "non-comfort access" car, "comfort access"?

My '08 does not have "comfort access" and I would be interested in making it "comfort access" if the cost is the same as if you had ordered it from the factory ($1500 or so).
