I just got my oil changed at Goodyear, but my oil indicator still shows the warning display on the IDrive. Does anyone know how to reset this to read ok? thanks

Pulled this out of my notes somewhere. Credit goes to the real author, who I can't remember .

Turn ignition to the "ON" position. Press and hold button to the left of the speedometer until first item is displayed (approx. 10 seconds). Press button until desired indicator is displayed. Press and hold button until RESET? is displayed. Press and hold button again for at least 3 seconds. Turn ignition off.

There are several other things that can be reset this way other than oil.

When you reset, idrive will show the mileage but this assumes that the BMW specified oil has been used.

It should default to a 15k oil change interval.

The 5,000 mile interval (which indicates use of non-synthetic oil) is not compatible with your BMW's condition-based service plan (the I-drive service warnings). As Ceenit points out, the unit will revert back to a 15k interval, which is highly inappropriate when using standard oils. I would STRONGLY suggest the use of appropriate BMW-approved synthetic lubricants.
