Yes. I did this other day. It would be easier for you to RTFM. But since you don't have it handy.

With your car stopped, engine on, reset the RTF indicator.
After doing this you can drive normally and the system will be ready some minutes later. After being ready you can see there in the RTF menu the indication ACTIVE.

Tuga is right. The instructions say to drive normally for a few minutes until the screen says ACTIVE, but for me that took more than 10 minutes, so BE PATIENT. I almost went home, prepared to call my dealer the next day, but I gave it a few more minutes of driving and it finally showed ACTIVE on the iDrive screen.

Don't you mean RTMF? No need to be nasty.

Many thanks...for both the helpful advice and the welcoming comments!

The procedure worked like a charm...after approximately 5 minutes of driving. How nice to have the bottom row of the display returned to normal.

More generally, it's very helpful to know where to go for that sort of thing now. I'd checked the car's owner's manual, but hadn't been able to find the directions for resetting the device.

By the way, the indicator had been tripped by the fact that one of the tires had dropped a couple of more pounds than the others. In othert words, the system seems pretty sensitive.

Again, thanks very much!

P.S. The comments in the message above are mine. I'm amazed that this board allows guests to post.
