about 2 weeks ago i had obtained a 2014 Professional disc from a guy at work that purchased the one wrong for his bmw. i was still using a disc from 2009. the label on the disc was peeling and i never removed it from the slot. i decided i did not want this to happen to the disc that i had obtained so i made a copy of it and started using that. it worked ok for a couple of days. every once and while the it could not read the disc and i would have to eject and reinsert. it started to do it more often and then stopped working not reading the disc at all. the disc had become stuck in the dvd slot. i tried to reset the idrive and pulled the battery off overnight to see if the disc would come it but no luck.

this past week i ordered a replacement dvd drive. i have searched and found a couple of DIY threads on this issue but not on a ccc with the favorite keys or lci. I was wondering if there was any difference in the diy between ccc with or without favorite buttons. one thread that i found linked copies of some TIS but links were bad.

i also was curious if i have to remove the shifter. i have a 2008 550i lci with CCC and SAT.
