I have a 2006 e61, and my Idrive told me yesterday that I have a parking bulb failure. Indeed it turned out that the angel eyes on right hand side were not working.

Does anybody know if i can replace them myself, or would you recommend going to dealer?

Do you have Xenon or Halogen driving lamps? Either way, you can replace them but I hope you have small hands.

It's a tight squeeze to get your hands to the parking lamps on the xenon version. When I took one of my parking lamps out I could not get it back it and had to unbolt the entire headlamp fixture to re-install the parking lamp.

I'd suggest you buy the parts (maybe eBay) and do it yourself. There are tons of DYI in here.

+1 determine first if you have adaptive HID or halogen headlight; the AE replacement is different for each. The DIY is easy, and inexpensive especially if you have little hands Shop on ebay or one of the forum advertisers for replacement options. Go bright and white ... It's better!

Try banging on the headlight first. It might fix it. You may have a loose connection. Thats what happened to mine.
