Hello everyone,
Would you mind sharing your thoughts about replacing my dented aluminum hood with a carbon fiber hood?
Some very drunk person jumped on my hood several times, and dented it. I filed a police report, but at the time, by deductible was too high to make a difference. Now, the dent is getting to me, and I've been thinking of putting in a carbon fiber hood. It's much cheaper than the $1000 or so that the body shop wants for a new aluminum hood.
Do you have any advice against the carbon fiber hood, like crashworthiness?
Thanks in advance!

O yes got for it, but when you seel the car itis not going to put the price up cos you got a CF bonnet.
things like this are just worth less unless you sell it just like a part. It is just a extra option on the car that will sell the car easyer.
BTW how much is the CF bonnet?
any pics?

I doubt that the aluminum hood offers much crash protection anyway, the Vorsteiner hood looks great.
Good luck, did you know the moron who jumped on your car ??

hello, thanks for your replies. There is a CF hood selling on eBay for about 600 including shipping. Nope, didn't know the guy. Someone saw the whole incident and left me a note. Random drunk guy. Thanks for your opinions I'll definitely go for it.

you can get the oem one from Garry with the25% discount. That would help. Otherwise, just go for the CF one, i would ask others about the fit and finish of the units before ordering
