How many miles do you have? I'm curious about when to expect my radiator to go out. I have come to the understanding that its not a question of IF the radiator/cooling system will fail, its a question of WHEN.

We should compile a list of commonly replaced parts on this forum, cost of repair and approximate mileage they tend to go out at.

Expected To Fail
-Battery
-Alternator
-Radiator
-Thermostat
-Cooling hoses
-CCC LCD Screen
-Control Arms
-Engine Mounts

Might Fail
-CCC Computer? (I hope this is not expected to fail!)
-Transmission? (I hope this is not expected to fail!)
-Fuel Pump?
-Audio Speakers
-L7 Amp ?
-Climate Control Blower fan

Add or Correct the list.

Lets not fight cmon now..i paid 360 for labor costs at $90/hr..parts total $775.00 let me break it down

1 rear pads $99.00
2 break rotors $105/piece $210
1 brake pad sensor $21
1 radiator $413
coolant antifreeze $16x2 $32
labor $90.00/hr 4hrs = $360
parts total $775

sub total $1135
parts tax 7.0% $54.25

TOTAL $1189.25
This all sounds reasonable. It's not a spectacular deal, but I don't think I'd expect to pay any less. Plus, if you liked their work and they were good to deal with, then you've just found a good indy shop. I'm glad it worked out.

Most guys wouldn't want to fool around with a radiator replacement. Brakes are easy, but since the car was already in there, it was probably worth it.

shops get parts for a discounted price so the Radiator is about $232, brake pads are $100 and rotors are about $200 so maximum for parts shop pays $500, the rest is their charge.
