Someone provided great instruction steps for cutting off the gadget (from the normal wires) that restricts the volume for IPod use.
There is apparently a small piece attached to the wires that keep the speakers from getting blown when someone is using an IPod. The post instructs on how to remove the gadget and re-tie the wires. It even has pictures.

I just can't find the old post.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Merry Christmas.
