So it turns out that my spoiler is glued on not screwed. This is good actually, didn't want holes in my trunk. I do want to remove it however, spoilers are passe, unless you own an M5, that spoiler is cool!
Now the question is, how does one remove the spoiler without damaging the paint? Should I take to a body shop?
This is the spoiler I want to remove, if anyone local wants it, they can have it for a reasonable price...

heat gun and some goo gone, but if it's been there for a long time, you may notice that the paint under the spoiler looks fresh and the rest faded.
And what's wrong with a spoiler ? I have one on my non M5

no hair dryer needed, just park your car out in the hot sun for couple hours then dental floss, the wax kind. Back and forth motion gently but apply some pressure down on the trunk while you're doing it that way you're taking more glue off on top of the trunk and not underneath the spoiler. Afterward, use some rubbing alcohol to clean it as much as possible then goo gone. You still will see it a bit but after several car washes and wax, it will blend in.

Actually Toronto and you are right, we don't have any sun here at the moment, it's been cloudy for the past 6 days!!

I suggest using hairdryer and not heatgun, this way you don't run the risk of burning the paint. I this time of the year you aren't going to be able to get it warm enough by just parking outside to really soften the glue.

So here's an update...
Finally got around to taking the car in to remove the spoiler after countless efforts trying to remove it myself, so took it to the bodyshop and get this... The previous owner had the spoiler glued on using an adhesive that literally bonded with the trunk!!!
The guys at the body shop told me it was the same stuff they use for windshields, sheesh! Anyway removing the spoiler is costing me $850 (includes repainting the whole trunk + decals) + a new shock/spring $227 = $1077.
YIKES!
