Can anyone tell me how to remove the gear level gater on a manual 2008 E60 / 61 ? I am talking about the leather gater that come out of the centre console and through which the gear lever protrudes.
My car makes this awful squeaking noise when I change from 1st to 2nd gear - on when I pull back hard on the grear lever, and only when it engages. It sounds like the gear lever rubbing on a rubber stop that needs some lube.
