He did ED, didn't he?

I'm thinking he hasn't gotten it back yet but I can't say for sure. If he hasn't, it should be any day now, shouldn't it?

JDN, Francois is here. He posts under something like "fmusbmw" (not sure of exact spelling).

Francois and tcast will be tremendous assets to this place!

Thanks guys!
Found him under fmusbmw. Looks like he got his car on April 29. Read some of his posts. He was here long before I was. Great posting. Just what you would expect from him. Thanks for the heads up, Rudy.

He got his car on the 29th in Munich. I think he lives in the US so he may not have it in his hands yet.

I'm sure he'll chime in and give us the scoop!

I didn't disconnect the battery when I removed the trim.
Do you have any suggestion to fix this fault message?
I just worry about visirting a dealer because they can void the warranty.
Thank you.

sh71jj,

You'll have to go to the dealer to get this fixed. It's going to cost you around $100. The airbag system only resets with a positive signal being sent to it.

I got the same error when I hardwired my radar detector up into the rear-view mirror area.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Crap... this happened to me even though the battery was off while the damn airbag was disconnected. Is there any way for us to send this 'postive signal' ourselves?

Did you end up going back to the Dealer? Did they charge you? I got the same warning after I had a upolstry guy remove and install additional padding on the bottom of the driver's seat....

Dealer should not charge you for airbag message unless you told dealer what you did which is tampering the car equipments.

Hi!
Today I upgraded front doors speakers. I removed the door trim and unpluged every connector which includes the airbags. Everything went smooth.
However, after reinstalling door trims, airbag fault message comes out.
Do you have any experience for this case?
Should I visit dealers to reset the airbag fault message?
Thank you in advance.
If i may go of the topic for just a bit .. i was wondering with what speakers did u replace the orginals with and is there a woofer in there .. i have the 10 spreaker hi fi system and find the bass response horrible on the e60 ..
