OK folks, want to remove the front seats in a 07 525, found the back bolts but cannot figure out how to get to the front ones, Any help.

slid out the tabs at the front of the runners. Hex 50 bolts are located there

there are two black plastic trim pieces that have to come off (slide forward) on the front of the seat rail to give you access to the bolts. they are a little tricky to remove and reinstall (the trim pieces).

T45 fasteners i believe. you also have to remove the seat belt from the side of the seat. same size bolt.

against advice, I did not disconnect the battery. if you dont, make sure you dont power on the car with the seat unplugged. you will get a nasty message about the restraint system that you will need to have someone reset with a scan tool. may be better just to unplug the battery.

i had a hell of a time getting seat out of the car. i have the comfort seats so Im not sure if the dimensions are different, but even with the headrest down and the seat down, it was a tough squeeze by myself. make sure you drape a towel over the middle console, door panel, and rocker panel. the metal tracks on the seats are sharp and can do some serious damage to the interior trim.

no problem, the previous owner of mine was clearly not well acquainted with a vacuum cleaner and there was a ridiculous amount of stuff stuck between the console and the seat. by taking the seat out, I was able to vacuum and shampoo the floor carpets.
