Perhaps I'm just reading the manual wrong or maybe I'm just plain stupid, but here's my question. I see where I can hold the unlock button on my remote and the windows and the sunroof will open. The manual says hold the lock button to close them, but when I do that nothing happens. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? How can I close them with the fob?

Now this question is a perfect example of why members need to update their profile to state their location.
This function is very geographic dependent and cant be answered properly without knowing your location.
In the US that function is disabled, however you can still stick the key in the keyhole turn to lock and hold it to close the windows.

or if you have comfort access hold your finger by the key hole (driver side) or by the no key hole door handle (passenger side)

Ok thanks and profile updated. It sounds kind of ridiculous to allow you to open the glass, but not close it with the fob. Any idea why they disabled that function in the US and can it be reprogrammed by the dealer?

Ya sadly its mainly #1... they think we'll just hold the button start walking away and can clip someones head off or finger and BMW can get sued for it... but on the other hand they let us use the iDrive's functionality FULLY while the car is in motion.... have anyone been in a Lexus with NAV? F-ing ridiculous!!!!
I much rather they take the closing window feature away and let us keep the full iDrive control when the car is moving...
I wish they did what Merc does... have an IR port and you have to aim at the IR port and hold the lock button and it'll roll the windows up... dont have to physically shove the key in the key hole.
