My Ride: Current - MY2008 530i comfort access, active steering, HUD, prof nav/TV, bluetootth etc ..... Old - 2006 530i comfort access, active steering, HUD, NAV/TV, Bluetooth
Default

Recently I have been getting the following message on the bottom line of the Nav screen along with a picture of a yellow batery and a cross thru it in the dash message area.

"remote control battery discharged"

I have the comfort access option. I read somewhere that the remote control battery is rechargeable by placing in the key slot. I have done this and the message still appears.

Any body know what to do next?

If I understand a Comfort Access key FOB correctly, you can replace the battery; unlike mine. Check the owner's manual to make sure.

comfort access keys are NOT rechargeable. remove the metal part of the key and you'll see the little battery door. it's a watch battery available at most pharmacies. I don't remember the size off the top of my head.

the older traditional style keys are the rechargeable ones.
