I removed my head light assembly by the method shown on John@Motorcepts' tutorial.

Getting it out was easy.

When it came to putting it back on, I couldn't get it to slide in all the way. I did see the (4) areas underneath the assembly that need to engage for proper fitment. I know I got it in the groove as it slide back and forth easily.

I'm only about a 1/4"-1/2" short.

Here's the gap

I PM'd John@Motorcepts and this is what he told me.
pull up the outer tab where the screw sits and push the headlight in. If it doesnt slide in smoothly, most likely your car was in a minor front end hit.
I tried pulling the tab but it didn't really help.

I'm 95% sure this car hasn't been in a front end collision... all the gaps were perfect going into this. All the screws came out easy and none of them felt like they were forced in.

Any other tips? I spent 2 hours trying to figure this out and finally gave up. I ended up tightening down the (2) T20 screws and (1) T30 screw for the other tab. For the remaining bolt, I just threw on a zip tie to secure it permanently.

Check the cables at the back and make sure they're out of the way. You won't be able to push the light assembly in the correct placement If the cables are in the wrong spot.

Also, in the second picture, the U-shape tab seems to be hitting something, preventing it to be pushed into its proper position with the screw. Pullout and reinsert headlight assembly. G/L

Looks like from the picture the back plastic lid that covers your headlight bulb is open? If so make sure that is clipped shut and pretty much what the above poster said, make sure no wires are getting caught behind it. The smallest wire or anything will stop it from being pushed forward all the way.

It was open so my T20 screwdriver could get to the bottom screw.

OK I will give it another shot after the weekend. Going on vacation... sucks to leave it like that

I think what Riz said about the U tab hitting something is most likely. Ran into similar problem when I removed my headlights to replace it with Mtec V2.1. Had to lift that bolt up a bit or may be tilt the light so the tab can be push forward entirely without obstruction.

I got it in.

I took the assembly out, held onto the wire so it wouldn't get in the way and put it in. Was having the same issue but I put my T20 screwdriver in the screw head and "pulled" on that while pushing the head light in. Worked like magic on both sides!

Thanks everyone!
