Default regular VS M package cars

Hi
I have a 2006 523i M package E60, it has an M-technick bumpers and M interior, last week i've changed the front discs and brakes and the regular discs and brakes did not fit so i had to buy the M disc and brakes the guy at the garage told me that most of the components in my car are M and the regular ones will not fit.. I just want to know if that is true and what is the difference between the regular and the M-packaged cars?? and the regular 523i has 190 bhp and i think i have more than that !!

The 523i was not imported to the US, but assuming the same logic applies, your car did not come factory with M brakes as part of the M-Sport Package. It's also an unlikely upgrade, being that the 523i is only shown as putting out 174hp using a 2.5L l6. Post some pics of the calipers or the engine, and we should be able to tell whether there have been upgrades.

Nope, just a mostly US forum. We don't have the 523i over here, so you won't get much response from fellow 523i owners on this forum.

I highly doubt BMW put M5 brakes on a 523i, but I could be wrong.
