Thumbs down

Hey, I just got my 2004 E60 525i and it has the ugly black colored plastic things on the bottom of the bumper...

From what I understand, I have two options

1. Red reflectors - I understand these are the one's included on Euro models
2. Body colored reflectors - Are these the one's the new E60's have?

First I need to choose one, which would you guys recommend?

Second, where is the cheapest source to buy them?

Thanks!

By them from the dealer. I got them from eBAY and with the shipping it cost more. Just get them from the dealership AND get the red ones.....THAY ARE HOTT FIRE!!!!

pro2cer, do you recall what you paid for them?

I'm also in Philly, which dealership do you use? I deal mostly with Thompson BMW in Doylestown...

Try posting on the classifieds section here that you want to buy a set. People that are installing the M-Tech kit now have no use for those anymore.

The reflectors are something like $12 a piece at the dealer, $24 for the pair. Can't recall seeing a price for the colored inserts. Easy do-it-yourself job to switch them out, search the forum. I personally like the red relflectors, particularly on the lighter colors. If you car is dark, the colored inserts are fine.

The E-bay stuff is junk.

Get your chrome grilles and euro reflectors from your dealer!

They do not cost that much more.

Or from Gary at Newport, if you are ordering several items, it might be worth paying for the shipping

Go to the dealer, you may pay a few bucks more, but you get to switch it out right away. Makes the back end look like a totally new car.

Another Garry Romani fan. Always good to see. He gives 25% off for all OEM parts, including wheels, to E60.net members. Keep that in mind for any future purchases.
